The Project

A documentary-style humanitarian content project I filmed in Bangladesh for Bani Academy (previously Banistreet), focused on capturing the NGO’s work on the ground through real-life moments, interviews, daily-life scenes, and environmental footage. The goal was to create emotionally strong but honest films that could support both awareness and donations, while avoiding overly generic charity storytelling. The intention was to show both the immediate reality on the ground and the deeper long-term impact of Banistreet’s work, especially through education, support, and human connection.

Role

I was in charge of the creative and editorial direction of the project, with a focus on shaping a story that felt human, cinematic, and credible. That included identifying the strongest emotional moments on location, capturing interviews and b-roll in real conditions, and building a narrative structure that could serve both storytelling and fundraising objectives.

What's in the edit

The edit brings together on-the-ground interviews, observational footage, daily-life scenes, NGO action moments, and contextual b-roll into a short-form documentary / social impact piece designed for online audiences. My intention in the edit was to balance truth, dignity, and emotional impact — showing the people, the environment, and Banistreet’s mission in a way that feels real rather than staged.

The film follows the reality of communities supported by Bani Academy (previously Banistreet) in Bangladesh, documenting the people, places, and situations the NGO is directly involved with. Set in real everyday environments, the project is meant to highlight human stories with sensitivity while helping the viewer understand both the urgency of the needs and the value of long-term support.
